HABIT: Small under storey tree found in evergreen forests.
DESCRIPTION:
PLANT : Grow up to 6 meters with dark brown bark.
LEAF : Leaves are simple, opposite, 7.5 - 16.5 X 4 -7.4 seize, elliptic or narrow obovate.
FLOWER : axillary cyme inflorescence.
FRUIT/SEED:Dark green capsule.
PROPAGATION : By seed.
MEDICINAL USES: Not known.
LOCAL NAMES: Karumarachedi, Nirkuruntha (Malayalam).
Foot note: Blepharistemma serratum is endemic to western ghat region.
