Thrikolpakkonna (Operculina turpethum)

Large twinning herb with milky juice.
Roots branched fleshy.
Stem winged.

Leaves:
 Ovate, cordate 4-10 x 1.5- 7 cm

Flowers:
White, funnel shaped.

Fruits:
The capsules is rounded, being 1 to 1.5 cm and contains normally 4 black, smooth seeds.

Medicinal properties:

Dried roots with intact bark, constitute the drug. It contain “Turpenthin”. Powdered roots used as purgative.
