Cassia occidentalis  is a  annual plant that grow up to 2 m tall.
The leaves are compound, leaflets in 4-6 pairs.
Yellow flowers occur in leaf axils.
The seed pods 8 to 12 cm long found in dark brown in colour.


Medicinal Properties:

 It is reported that the seed is effective as a diuretic and liver detoxifier.
